Squier recently released the Matt Freeman signature P-Bass. Nothing special in terms of features other than a 70's look and design, but still looks good. I'm not a Rancid fan at all, but I'm digging that Vintage White and one piece glossed maple neck scheme.

Also, there's a thread down there somewhere regarding a new CV50s color choice, and now that it's been confirmed, it's officially a butterscotch blonde finish. In my eyes, looks better than the '51RI's butterscotch finish, but other than that, I can't judge it. Come with a pine body as well, as opposed to the original basswood body on the lake placid blue finish.

Finally, a short scale VM Jaguar Special SS bass is out as well, not familiar with Jaguars so I can't say much there.

Thoughts?

I can't find anywhere that is says the body's pine. Both CV50 shows basswood.

That CV50's looks so tempting. I don't know if I can justify another bass at this point, with the current one I'm building and all..

A short scale Jaguar is a really cool item. I didn't see it come up on the price list when I looked though. But I'm cheap so it's probably out of my reach :D

I had an SX for awhile and when I was buying that I was torn between a Jazz or Jaguar shorty, I chose the Jazz at that time since the Jaguar style was out of stock.

Cool to see them manufacture short scales though.

The Jag shorties are $169.99.

I saw that, now I'm really tempted. I have two Musicmasters now, black and blue, so maybe a red one?

The Matt Freeman model is available in Vintage White and Black:

Matt is also a Jazz aficionado, here's a photo of him playing a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass:

Fender hasn't released a Squier replica of his late 1950's P yet:

are you sure that's not just the Road Worn 50's Precision?
it looks like it has all the same wear marks...

though i guess i should stress that "wear marks" aren't really wear marks because they're all just done in the shop. haha
a lot of guys don't like the Road Worn models, but i personally do. i've played the 50's Precision a bit and it felt AMAZING to me...
