They are the only place posting these pixs right yet, that's all.

O.K.,

I'll call you Cliff if you insist, I liked Bats, it had a ring to it.

Yes you did tell me, there's that shiny thing going on again, lol. I really do want to try an agathis body

Uh, not, not you Ox. I was talking to b.Sharp, who I know as Surferjoe over at TB. Im basically teasing him for misspelling Elderly as "Enderly".
As an aside, I also pointed out neither of these basses are technically new, the '77 came out a few months ago, and especially the fretless which has been out since '06. I'm thinking they must just be new to Elderly.

I'm glad you cleared that up, I still like "Bats" better, matter of fact, I have a Levy's strap that has bat all over it, quite nice, you see a pattern but have to look close to see the fine detail.

Anyway, the '77 was new to me, I've played a few Squier fretless but just can't bring myself to buy one. Twice i walked in with cash in hand and walked back out without one. They just didn't feel right. I stopped at a "new to me" music store yesterday and played a "94 Fender fretless, black w/ white pickguard. My plan is to buy a black fretless and put a black pickguard on it. This one had no fretlines on the fretboard, was in nice shape and only $399.00. Just didn't feel right.

For those of you reading this, if you don't understand "feel", I hope you do someday.

Odd that Squier didn't send emails on this.
@eyecandy~ Don't fret. Agathis is a great tone wood kinda in between mahogany and alder. (A little darker than alder.) My 70s VM P-bass has an agathis body (And many I've owned before) and has a lot of sustain and resonance. :)

I guess they figure it wasn't necessary since there was a lot of fuss about it even before it was officially announced in August, when someone leaked pics of it and the Jag and amber
VM P prematurely, when a couple of online stores listed them before they were supposed to.

FSR? I don't think so. I see no reason why it wouldn't be a regular part of the current Squier lineup. Musician's Friend has a habit of being premature and sloppy with their listings, often putting them up for a while, then taking them down for a bit, then putting them back up ... If it were a special run, I'm quite sure it would be mentioned in the listing. Besides, I don't believ Squier has ever had a special run instrument, have they?

Sure is shiny! From the MF listing, it appears to b e a maple body, it doesn't say otherwise. I haven't paid a visit to any stores lately, better that I don't, $300.00 isn't that much.
