Who else is looking forward to seeing / playing / buying the new VM '77 Jazz Bass?

Looking at it on squierguitars.com, It really looks nice with the black body, black pickguard and especially the maple neck with the white pearloid block inlays.

I just may be the first one on my block to own one! 8)

I like the way it looks, but I'm not a big fan with agathis. I wish they made it with maple or just alder. I do like the way the neck looks too with the silver binding and pearl blocks.

I've got the white/rosewood VM P-bass that's agathis. No problems from me. I love the light weight, 7.9lbs.

The '77 does look good though.

sonically agathis are warmer than the balanced alder wood... well you have to be really listening hard to hear the difference..

I had tried an Agathis Tokai J bass, and well it sounds sweet.. i guess another factor is the set of strings used... its really hard to tell and they sounded like MIM Jazz basses..
