How much does your CV bass weigh?

My 60s CV PBass weighs 8lbs 13.7oz (8.85lbs)

I wonder how much weight I'd save if I swapped out the HiMass bridge for an AV bridge.

My CV Jazz is much heavier than the rest I've played. It also has a 3 piece body.
The Made In China basswood Squiers are 2 piece bodies...and, the Affinity models(made in China) are 3 piece alder. All this leads me to believe that my bass is made with alder. Doesn't really matter though.

I can't even see any seams, the finish is too smooth. Mine is made in China, but I'd be surprised if it was a 2 piece body at this price point.

They do a damn good job with the finishes on those CV Squiers. The Deluxe Active IV Jazz Bass appears to be 2-piece basswood(one seem straight down the middle of the body) in the 3 tone sunburst pics that I've found. I don't know if they are capped with a veneer is the thing. The 5 string Deluxe is made with more pieces than two. It may not even be the same wood supply.

I'm just nosey about that kinda stuff. One thing though.. the James Burton Tele was made with Basswood at one point. It's not a "cheaper" wood as some may say. Same with the EVH Wolfgang.

**You can't swap the bridges without drilling new holes with these Squiers. You don't want the body being so light that the neck dives downward anyway.

mine weighs nothing, the only reason it's heavier now is because i put the vintage reverse tuners on it. such a cool bass i love it to bits

Which tuners did you get? Did they line up with the existing holes?

changing to a vintage reverse tuners.. I believe would require drilling new holes to it..
