OK, now, it's as official as it gets, these are all now listed on the Squier website. On the front page, click on GEAR, then new for 2010, they are listed there.

They are for real. I talked with the Fender sales rep for the store I work at about them. I can't wait to check out the VM 77 Jazz. Samash and Elderly have them for pre order on their sites.

Ummm ... Not meaning to be rude, but at this point it's old news. Did you even read the last few posts?

Why do forum dorks always start with "not being rude". So sorry, i must have been too busy being a working musician to pay close attention to the boards.

Might not get bothered by "forum dorks" if you bothered reading (and comprehending) the posts in a thread.

I got mine!

You have to hear this thing!

It's hot HOT HOT!

The p'ups are so powerful you can mistake it for an active bass.

The Tone/Vol stacks are slick and smooth and just the right amount of turning resistance to make them nice and the Tone pots are indented to click into position whee you leave them - cool.

The bass is absolutely flawless - not sharp spots, no frets hangin' out and they are level as you're gonna find on a factory guitar - but they really are better than that.

Sound-wise - this bass has a very powerful voice all of it's own and can get heard in the mix by diming the P p'up and adding some J p'up to get it heard.

At 8lbs even, it's the lightest bass I have next to my SR500, which is the same. Neck dive is almost none and the fret board has the tightest grain on any bass I have. I thought it was a plastic board, it's so nice.

If you don't get one of these, you'll miss a lot of great bass playing and tone and versatility. The P/Js are all over the place tone-wise and if you can't find the tone you want, you haven't found it yet - but it's THERE! Believe me!

I was a bit hesitant about the Squier Jaguar Bass at first but after reading the reviews,
and listening to the video demos on YouTube, I was hooked and had to get one before they were all gone.

I picked mine up about two months ago and now I play it as much as my Fender Jazz bass. It feels great, sounds excellent, and meets all of my playing needs.

Moreover, if anyone hates the look of the factory brown tortoiseshell pickguard, you can now get a custom Squier Jaguar pickguard from Jeannie Pickguards at http://home.comcast.net/~pickguards/ or from them on Ebay.

I had them make a Black Cherry Pearl pickguard for mine and I'm waiting delivery on it now. I'll post some pictures once I get it.

Cheers

There's a VM Jaguar Special with Duncan Designed PJ pickups and active bass boost circuitry for additional low-end power.

Image

Cosmetic-wise, this bass has pearloid dots on the fretboard and lacks off a matching headstock. It also sports a 3-ply black Jazzmaster-style pickguard and classic-looking Jazz Bass knobs/control plate.

For bassists seeking a versatile wealth of tonal options just right for any bass sound and style, the Jaguar Bass Special is also available with a powerful Music Man-type humbucking pickup and a 3-band active EQ.
