So yesterday I went around looking for a pink guitar strap for my daughters new guitar (for Xmas). I couldn't find any. At the same time I also asked to order the bridge (BadAss II), 2 stores can't order, out of stock, reason: Fender is buying lot's of the bulk for the Hwy 1 and Geddy Lee basses. So today I went to my local shop - yesterday too, but my guy was off - and he told me the same thing but he will ck with one of his suppliers...voila, Chrome BadAss II on order, should be in within 2 weeks. Priced well below what I thought it was going to be - $55, plus 1 hr labor and new strings will cost, total would be under $125...This btw is for the Vintage Modified. I can't wait.

I'm doing the same thing to my VM Jazz bass, except I'm going with the black badass II and installing black nylon tapewound strings. Should enhance the tone / sustain nicely. With the black fretboard markings I think it will look good. It will be ready Wednesday or Thursday.

FYI, I ordered my bridge from Musicians Friend about a week ago (during their 15% off sale). Got it in about two days.

Cool. I have a BadAss III on my '87 Fender, with Black Beauties (DR strings) on 'em. I can't wait. Next summer I'm putting EMG Passives on 'em too.

I hear u on the Musicians Friend, but I like to have my local guy order it 1st because I like supporting local economy - no jabs against u here, just my own personal feelings :) I did get it for $55 so it is a lot cheaper than I anticipated to spend. :D

Excellent choice. I have Badasses on all of my J basses - I swear by 'em.
That Badass'll look great on the VM and it'll sound pretty damn good too.
Great price, by the way. We have to pay a lot more than that in the UK... :(

I do too, I've got 'em on the Power Jazz Bass Spc in black, but I have the BA III on that. For the price I couldn't say no. The thing with our $ shrinking is that things would be cheaper for u using the UK Lb wouldn't it?

How do you like those Black Beauties? I'm thinking of trying them when my BadAss bridge comes in. I've been using Dean Markley Blue Steel but they don't hold their tone very long.

I don't like the Blue Steels. I had the same issues, they don't hold their tone that long. I used to string my bass with them when I used to gig a lot.

The DR Black Beauties are awesome. The only thing I don't like is the tone outlast the color. Now the bass strings don't look that good, the sound is still perfect tho. I'm going the Fender 7350 when I get new strings. I just love the stainless steel string sound for the music I play.

I got one of them on my jazzer, and it looks and sounds fantastic. It is the best thing you can do for your jazz bass.

How long have u had them on your bass ipodjunkie? I've had the DR for almost a year, mind u I don't do gigs anymore - job and family kinda put a damper on the band thing. I also have Fender Flatwound on my Squier, that thing just keeps it's tone too, also stainless.

about the badass II : 8) The badass II made a serious difference! It was more punchy and brighter, sustain was better, I also replaced the strings (roto sound flat wounds)
