Hey Paisley Strat, on Wed night I just picked up a Squier Musicmaster exactly like yours, classic white. Mine was pretty dirty and dusty as well but no real damage on the finish. LOVE IT. I paid $225 so a little more than you did but that's ok, I wanted it.

For about 17 years now I've had a 1978 Fender Musicmaster and I always wanted a second, a backup bass is a good idea at gigs. Finally did some serious searching and all I could find were Squiers in Shell Pink and Black, niether of which were colors I wanted.

I did get to use the Squier at practice last night, performed like a champ. It plays circles around the SX that I had before as my back up bass.

I once had that "thudding" sound on the E of my Fender MM, turned out to be the neck needed a truss rod adjust after a long winter road trip to a gig. And that pickup from Seymour Duncan that Darkly Dreaming recommended, I put one of those in my Fender about a year ago, totally upped the sound from the bass over the stock Strat pickup that was in there.

Got a gig tomorrow night and can't wait to play my MM's through my Line 6 Lowdown 300.

Sweet!

I'm glad you got your Vista MM. There's only one way it could look better...

If it was sitting in MY living room!

Thanx bro, I got lucky on this one, no way I thought the guy would drive for 2 hours based on a Craigslist sale but had to try.

Now I'm trying to find a pickguard in blue pearl or something similar, give it a little "pizzazz."

Played it last Sat and it rocked well, nice to have two basses that rock.
