I picked up my first electric bass in the 6th grade (can't remember if it was fall of '89 or spring of '90. Regardless, it was probably built in the 80's. I owned this bass for 3 years and yet it is in none of my old photographs. What I remember about it: Fender Squier, Jet black (both body and headstock) , P-bass pickup (for sure) and (possibly) a jazz pickup by the bridge. Also, the most unique thing about this Squier was that it had a non-traditional headstock. It was shaped more like something you'd see on a Jackson or Ibanez bass. I bought the bass along with a 12" 80 watt Fender Sidekick bass amp, although I don't think they were a packaged deal, I think the store sales guy just hooked me up with both for a good price. I can't find any photos on the web of any Squier Bass that matches my discription, so now I'm wondering if I'm trippin' out on the memory of the headstock. Someone, please help!

If my memory serves me correctly (although there's been a lot of bong loads since the selling of my bass), the 4 tuners were in-line, not 2+2 like the bass you were kind enough to find a picture of. But thanks for tryin'!

I though it was like the one I post since you mention some relativity with Ibanez.

the only think i can think of is the precision special:

to my knowledge, squier hasn't released any bass' that don't have headstocks other than the 4 inline, strat style.
