Just added a Squire Affinity Jazz Bass to the family. Christmas present from my lovely wife. I'm not a bass player primarily, but I wanted one for recording with my Micro BR and this fills the bill perfectly. Was even able to set the intonation myself, although I find the action a bit high. Then again, it did buzz a bit before I set it up and now it doesn't so that's a good thing. Lovin' it!
Still haven't spent the time to figure out how to use that friggin' Photobucket but when I do (and I will eventually) I'll get pics of all my babies on here.

affinity J is a great bass... I'd bring one if i can buy esp in gigs where we just get to play 2-4 songs... or maybe get drunk without worrying others might spill or hit it..

Listen no disrespect intended but I needed a bass asap since my Fender Jazz was in the repair shop getting set up. turned out that i was getting my new svT 4Pro same day and I didn't want to be without a bass. So I went to the bass dude at Samash local store and he sold me a $199 squire bass right out of the box. Off hand I don't know the model but it truly sounds as good as my $500 plus Jazz (active pickups) bass. I have (2) squire guitars starter models, so I took a chance on the bass and now its a keeper.

I have a Squier '70's Vintage Modified Jazz which I think is a great bass. I've used it without a back-up and will continue to do so. It has all the pros and cons of a "real" '70's Jazz, It growls, it has the classic tone, it's awkward to hold, it's heavy, all the things that make it great.

Somebody at Fender made a good decision to make a better quality import. Try a whole bunch of them leaving any pre-conceived ideas or expectations at home. There's a bass out there for every player.
