I doubt it. Their pups seem dull to me (the ones I played, I don't own one). Give it a shot, I think daddario makes like really really cheap sets of SS rounds (like $10 a pack) and they're really good. But they only last like a week, so if you like it you can buy some rotos or something.

I use the 9050 Flats. I use the .105-.50 gauge.

Love those, I have those on both my Musicmasters, Squier and Fender.

Red ones on my acoustic BG-29.

My Squier has yet to be delivered, an Affinity Jazz. Once the OE strings go dead on it, I am planning on tossing a set of D'Addario Chromes in 45-100 on it.

I use D'Addario XL Nickel Rounds on my PJ basses, the Jazz really should get the flats....

D'Addario nickel wounds, DR Lo-Rider stainless steels, Ernie Ball roundwounds. I am going to try a set of Fender bass guitar strings next change.

I use D'Addario ENR72 Half Rounds Medium Bass Strings on my Squier V-M 70s Jazz Bass. Warm tone, virtually no string squeak. easy on the fingers and close to original string size so the nut is happy (the one on the bass, not the one playing it!)

I'm glad to hear that, because I bought a D'Addario ENR71S set (of half-rounds) for the next time I change the strings on my short-scale VM Jag.
I've never tried half-rounds of any kind on anything before, but it seems like a good idea.

[edit] I'm guessing the original owner did not change out the factory strings on my Jag, which would make them "Fender® USA Bass 5250XL Short-Scale NPS, (.040-.095 Gauges)", according to the specs here.
The D'Addario ENR71S set are .045, .065, .080, .100.

Stock right now, when they need to be replaced it will be with my usual D'Addario Nickel Rounds in 45-100. I never liked Fender strings before, but this new Squier after some break in, the strings are awesome!

My P-Bass has the 45-105 Rotoround Swing bass set, and my fretless Jazz has the factory set on it, but I'm not sure of what to pick when I change them.

These on my Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Image

I did have the heavier 105-45 Rotos on there for awhile, but the action didn't work well for me with that bass. Besides, they felt a little too stiff. The lighter gauge just works better for me.

On my P-Bass Specials, they both have
Rotosound Swing Bass RS 66LD.

On my Affinity with the P-Bass Special Neck (my oldies/motown bass)
D'Addario Flatwound Chromes ECB82
