The action is set high on my VM-JB. I can't seem to get them lowered without fret buzz. Any suggestions? It's happening the worst on the D string around the 7th fret, but also happening on others.
I'm using Fender flat wound strings and the neck appears straight.

Are you trying to adjust them lower than specs? What type of playing are you setting up for? Need a little more info to help you out.

Can you take it back and have them look at it? Even Guitar Center will offer that courtesy.

I own One, and the action can not be setted really low because some frets were not assemble correctly, the quality standards for this bass are not as good as other Squiers. Yes, weird, but believe me. I fixed my freatboard setting the freats correctly and now the strings action is really low and I don't have any buzz. This issue is happening only with this model. Weird :( !!
I have a friend that just buy one and same story.... Sad!

Mine is set pretty low, no buzzing what so ever. I do have BadAss II on 'em. Before I got the BA bridge, I adjusted it to my liking, no buzz. If it's new, have the shop adjust it - where you got the bass from. I always make sure they adjust the bass as part of the negotiations. Good luck.
