I got a Squier Modified 70's Jazz Bass for Christmas last year, and the bass is awesome! Its got the standard Fender contour on the body (enables you to play for hours), Seymour Duncan Designed pickups, and absolutely sweet tone! It's a little on the weighty side, but just about all basses are heavy. I heavily reccomend this bass! :D

Squier have made a revolution by creating the Vintage modified series even in guitars and basses. The Vintage modified 70's j-bass is a surprsingly good axe. I matched it with a 2006 Highway1 j-bass and I thing squier knocked that one out. For its price it's about to be the best.

I love my VM modified basses. One to bellow and one to be mellow

I just bought this VM P-bass to mess around with and workout some song ideas with my Tele. Besides the look of the white body with black pickguard it actually has a good tone once I tightened down the bridge and completed a setup. I get a little vibration at the third fret on the E string only. I may try to mess with the string height a little to see if this remedies the situation. Other than that, I like it a lot. I was surprised at how lightweight it is. The last bass I had was an old 1970's no-name Gibson SG copy that was built like a tank

I thought they were nice when I played the PBass (VM) @ the music store, but the weight is what bothered me. IMO it's too light. It's nice but I like a heavier bass. I always hate heavy bass 15 min after a show tho :D , but every time I bring a "light" spare, I end up on the heavy bass again. Go figure.

Have to say, I love heavier basses (Like my MIA Jazz) but my VM fretless is so light and easy to throw around that I always end up choosing it over my Fender for a quick noodle/jam. Unless I really want a fretted tone that is.

My VM is within ounces of my '87 Fender. I like 'em heavy, most of my Ibanezes were light, the heaviest was the 6 string SR, and that was only a few oz's heavier than the Fender. I like the weight on the shoulder on stage, idk why.
