Can anyone who owns this bass tell me whether it is suited for slap? I would really really appreciate it...

No and Yes.
As received from the factory the set-up is vanilla.
You might want to consider a better bridge - one that allows for more precise positioning of the strings over the pups. Mine was set too low.
Also, go for a good neck adjust. Again, mine came bowed and needed to be straightened out.

Now the yes part - if you get yourself some killah strings, that'll help alot. Try the DR Sunbeams, High Beams, GHS Boomer Med-Lights. There are some others out there.

With a little TLC, a bridge mod, strings and good set-up - you'll be slappin' silly in no time!

And have fun!

Not that this is the be all and end all - but I went with a Gotoh and it is sweet and about half the price of that other bridge everyone raves about and comes in all finishes. You should be able to pick one up in the mid $40s and will make a difference in tone and sustain.
The next place to go for modding would be an active/pre-amp set-up. Before you dish for the pickups and electronics, try an outboard "slapper helper" like the Pandora PX4D or the newer PX5D.
I've found that even with a good slap sound you can tweak the highs and scoop the mids a bit more with some outboard help.
If that's not enough, get a good sounding amp after looking at a pickup - upgrade.

I would say it's do-able, but not a good bass for it. And if you're going to spend on mods to that extent, you might just as well buy a better bass in the first place! However, it is fun to do.
My experience? I don't slap, at all. To get a reasonably bright sound out of this pickup, you need good, modern, hi-fi amps. I use a Markbass. An SVT will sound horrible with this bass, unless you're into serious dub.
No replacement bridge will better the sustain of this string-through-body one. However, a four-piece bridge will certainly make it easier to intonate.
Overall? If this is a style of bass you like, it's a lot of bass for the money.
But something with a bridge pickup will be better for slap, at the end of the day...
