I got it 8/31. Got intonation and neck adjustment done on it. The only minor mod so far are the knobs, I had the top hat Fender knobs put on from my '88, took off the chromies. I'm putting on BadAss III this Xmas on it.

Sweet, you certainly made an excellent choice going for that bass, some of the Squier VM's I've played have given the standard MIM Fenders a run for their money!

Are you sure it's the BadAss III you want though? If you are planning to make the bass string-through then fair enough, but the mounting screws are in a different place so it could end up looking a mess. I would advise going for the BadAss II bridge, that's the standard replacement for all non string-through fender basses.

+1 on that - Badass 2 is the way to go - direct replacement for non string-thru, and it just drops into place! Best upgrade around (and it's a few quid cheaper than Badass 3.)
The Squier VM's are magnificent beasts, I love the 70's look and they play really well. Good buy!
The new Squiers really are fab!

I am going with the badass III, I like the way it looks a lot better, although now I might be going w/II again. We'll see. I have III on my '88 Fender.

+1 on the Badass II mod. I made this mod to my VM Jazz...the sustain and tone improvement is worth the investment.
