Just picked up my Squire Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz Bass. What a GREAT instrument and an awesome value for the dollar.

I was wondering what, if any, care or maintenance does the Ebonol fretbord need?

The best thing I could suggest would be to do basic maintence on it. Take your strings of, wipe it down with a dry cloth, and then spray a small amount of pledge on a rag and wipe down the fret board. As always check to see if the fret wires may need to be replace as well as the neck nut.

Thnks! Never thought of that! In fact, as soon as my flatwounds arrive, it's going in for a pro setup.

I'l ask my Tech what he thinks of using Pledge.

By the way......AWESOME bass for the price. Probably one of the best values out there right now!

Pledge? Be serious. Pledge is a furniture polish, not for fretboard care.

Use a product designed for fretboard care. I recommend Gerlitz Guitar Honey.

Pledge contains water, no good for a fretboard, you can buy proper fretboard oil dirt cheap. i use kyser lemon oil, roughly costs about 5 gbp and is great plus it will last quite a while as you dont put a great deal on.
