I've gigged with a squier guitar...

And I once saw a really cool folk band where the bass player had a squier Jazz (a pretty nice sunburst one)

I play my Squire 5 String Jazz Bass every time I play and I couldn't be happier with the performance I get out of it. As I yet I haven't any complaints on how the instrument sounded. If you are worried about the way it is going to sound while playing a gig, don't! I think you'll be impressed by the overall tonal quality you get out of it.

I've had a 1984-1986 Squier Jazz bass since 1986 and I have always used it for gigging. I've never had any problems with its performance and I've never had a good reason for getting another bass. I play on it pretty hard (with a pick) and it's taken a lot of abuse, too, and held up just fine. It stays in tune and sounds great no matter what.

absolutely, i love my Squier ('Jaco P sig') VM jazz bass fretless and its an excellent bass, perhaps the best squier bass IMO.

Gigged many times with it and never ashamed to not to play it when others players (those nights) use rather expensive basses.

I have an all black Japanese Squier P-Bass that I play out with all the time. It was in three other bands, (three previous owners), before I bought it. Thing has taken a beating and still sounds great! p.s. The tuners are awsome on it.

I have a Squier p-bass and a ESP LTD D-4 and I gig with both.
I end up using the p-bass more than the ESP. Sounds better and plays easier.
