Next to my '87.

To be honest, the craftmanship of this bass is top notch. But it's still new so we'll see in about a year if it's the same as the VM. Sounds really nice, need a little more set up, some fret buzz on the higher frets on the G string, and also on the B string. Very heavy bass, lots heavier than my 6 string SoundGear that I sold a few years back. I've gigged that 6 string for 1.5 hrs and no pain, playing with this 5er for 35 min standing up I had to play sitting down resting it on my thigh. I like the sound tho, but I've always liked active pups sound. That's it so far.

those are some nice looking basses. Heavy is definitely NOT my thing though. I am only 5'6, so light with a small fretboard for me is key. My P Bass Special is a little heavy but not like that old Hondo guitar I once owned. Man, was that guitar awful.

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, like I said, I've had the SoundGear which was a 6 string, that thing wasn't too heavy. But SoundGears are known to be light weight. I'm only 5'7" so not that much difference between you and I. Just gotta keep practicing with it. I did a little more set up, eliminated the fret buzz too now. I just adjusted the saddle height. Action still low, so can't complain.

I got into Squiers with a strat back when I was in high school. The guy at the music store assured me that they were good quality. I just went in that direction when I wanted to play bass and I have really been impressed. A lot of people play my bass and they are shocked that it is as good as it is. I mean, it is what it is, but it still is very nice.

They really are a good value.

I never glanced @ Squiers until summer of '07 really when the music store I frequent had a VM. I always thought Squiers were low end and had a lot of issues, didn't sound good. Boy, the VM proved that wrong. Now, I have a second Squier.

I am really into my P Bass Special. I have noticed as I get better and get around the fretboard more some light fret-buzz here and there if I am not giving it full attention but really my only thing is the pick-ups. At some point as we have discussed before those are going.

We are starting to get a good little community here of Squier Bass Players.

I think so, I remember when I got the '87 how heavy it felt compared to my Hondo, but it was worth it, the sound, the feel, the tone. I'm sure I'll get used to the weight of this too. Thanks Jlarocho for the compliment.

Will do. No case or gig bag at this time. I'm interested on getting a Musician's Gear Tweed case. I'll post when I have a few more min. My wife nd to download her pix out of the memory card/stick so I can take more pix. I don't know which one she wants or don't want. Plus not going to start anything with her over pix on the camera

...and if you do win(very, very, very rare), you'll be ignored for about 2 weeks. Ask me how I know? Hint, my wife just started talking to me yesterday, maybe cuz it's my bday...who know. I'm savoring it though, cuz I actually the one that's right this time around. Very very rare I tell ya
