Hi all. I've just recently started playing bass, and my first bass I bought was the Squier VMJ fretless, thinking that I'd like playing fretless better than the fretted. Well, after playing for a couple of weeks, I'm thinking that playing fretted might be better for me.

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading their VMJ fretted neck for my fretless one? The neck on my is practically new ... I installed flatwounds on it, so it has no neck wear. I'd be looking for a similar nearly new neck in return. The reason I'm thinking of trading for a VMJ fretted is that the hole pattern should match up perfectly with my current hole pattern, and I'm not sure if some other replacement necks will match up.

Thanks!

I believe that any jazz bass replacement neck should work . Check stewmac or warmoth . I think it will be difficult for you to find someone who wants to do the trade .

Y'know, I wouldn't mind trading necks, but since you posted this, you've not post anyother, so that kinda makes me worried. Another reason is that I like the VMJ neck I have, it's one of the reason(s) I got the bass. If you were local to me or the other way around, I'd trade for a couple of weeks/months. Or, you can ebay. Jlarocho also mentioned it, go ck out warmoth or stewmac.

I assure you I'm not trying to rip anyone off ... just trying to mutually help someone out if they're looking for a fretless neck.

I too love the feel of the neck on the VMJ, hence why I'd like to stick with a VMJ neck (just the fretted version). Also, sticking with the Squier neck, I shouldn't (at least I don't think) have to drill any holes in it. A Stewmac or Warmoth would still need some (although minimal) drilling. This would be my first neck replacement, so I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.

Like I said, if you were closer I'd trade for a couple of months. I wouldn't want to give up the maple fretboard for too long.
