Putting a string cover and ashtray on my p bass but the strings are touching the ashtray! What can I do?

You don't give much to go on - pics, and maybe some info about your experience would help us help you.

Basically, the bass needs a setup with the parts fitted properly - but that's not much help... :wink:

If the strings are touching, your string height is WAY too high and likely making the bass almost impossible to play.
