Hartke makes combos, the thing is their cheap combos now are made in China like all else. Peavey makes good amps too. Fender Rumble series are pretty good. Peavey probably will give you good back for the buck too. If your pals are playing accoustic, maybe a 50 or 60 watt should do. Mine's 500 now, I'm only utilizing 270 of it, and I don't go pass 1, yep not even pass 1 on the volume. So don't get overkill with the watts, get what you need. And before you say, listen to yourself, I was in a hardcore band, that's why I got the 500w amp

I actually have a 20 Watt Peavey that I use sometimes. It is the Microcube. It has the same zero features of the Squier but I like it that way. Hard to get confused with 4 knobs. It is pretty good against accoustics but if I ever play some jazz or blues (not rock blues but jazzy blues, with a small drum-set involved) I will need more. The 20 amp actually at 2-3 is loud enough for 2 acoustic guitars. In fact, I can get it high enough where I drown them out and I am still not distorted much, if at all.

But, I am thinking 50-60 give or take... somewhere definitely under 100. I just also want it to sound good. I think Ampeg makes something that effect in a vintage style. I might consider that. I am a sucker for vintage stuff.

Well, playing with accoustic guitars, even 60w would be overkill I think. Try out all sort of diff't brands at your local store. Have fun while you're doing it too. :D

yeah ampeg BA have some kind of vintage vibe in their sound but they arent really great for the money and they arent as loud as you would espect then to be, but you arent lookin for a loud amp so maybe they'll work for you, also cheak out laney amps, they have a nice punc and they can be really loud
or maybe a hartke A seroes , they have awesome tones, or even better kickback series, they have a really nice growl in their tone but is not like a grind growl, is a really tube like growl imo

So if I stay with the acoustic guys it sounds like both of you would elect for a better soudning lower watt amp or say higher quality but lower watt amp then a just 60W amp for the sake of 60 watts?

What about if at some point it was a blues/jazz trio of guitar, drum, bass... would 50 Watts or so handle that? What if a keyboard was added on top of it?

I am kinda thinking a few years down the road a jazzy-blues trio is where I would like to end up.

But at the same time, I don't want to be purchasing new amps every other year... well I do, but it isn't cost efficient! :)

Well, 50w would do enough damage on stage, chances are your amp wouldn't be miked, you'd be lining out to the pa system. It's easier for the sound guy to set up the levels that way.
