Hello. Has anyone fitted new pickups to their Squire P-bass before?

I want to fit either EMGs or Seymore Duncans to it, depending which is better.

Cheers :D

Iron F*^($N Maiden! one of my goals in life is to see them before i die. steve harris is what 50 now and still flies with those fingers of his. i put the 1/4 lbs in one of my fenders after 4 other pickups i put in the same bass myself. i got tired of soldering so i installed disconnect terminals on the wires. i have the seymour duncan vintage and antiquity pickups and the fender 62 p bass pickups. the 1/4 lb is by far the best for tonal options and actually sounds more vintage with dadarrio chromes then the seymour duncan antiquity. if you ask me, those pickups were a waste of money.

Yes, I just got my Bass Player back issue with him on the cover. As much as I love the man, I went w/EMGs this summer for my Power J Bass Spc. I like it a lot. I've played some basses with 1/4 lber and they do sound magnificent. Either way, 'Arri would be proud...Up the Iron!!!

MAIDEN! i dont think ive ever owned a bass with emg's in em. im not a big fan of active pickups but i do have a nice ibanez sr900 with active bartolinis in it and its a realy nice bass but i only use it for heavy music like drop c and stuff. i did see chris from anti-flag using passive emg's in a p-bass and was thinkin of tryin em out.

I luv it - EMGs. My BTB has the active soap bar, and that thing can go down tuned to c w/o any buzzing what so ever. It does have a 35" scale neck though, one thing that is good with 'em is the drop down tuning. Speaking of heavy music, I just got the new MadBall today - Infiltrate the System - NYHC to the fullest!!!! Peace out!

Well.. I put Seymour Duncan SPB-3 to my 1st bass.. It sounds quite good, so I use it as backup bass instead of MIM J-bass, 'cause it sound better))..

I put a SD SPB-3 in my Affinity P Bass, and it sounds great. Switch the foam to springs though that's my only advice because it'll lift the pickup better.
