Extreme update:

I started this thread awhile back while documenting my modifications to a couple of my Squires. Well, the VM fretless is pretty much the same as it looked when I 1st started this. My Affinity V, however, has gone through a few more changes.

Originally I added an Audere JZ3 preamp and had the white pick guard painted with a prismatic holographic paint.

And that, I believe, was the last I posted about it. Well, a few years back I began tinkering once again and had the body repainted,added some decals to the neck, and the JZ 3 preamp replaced with the stock control plate from my Squire VM fretless...

Well, that was not enough! I don't really care for the 5 in-line headstock with the mini tuners, so I ordered a Squire Classic 70s Vibes maple neck with black block tuners and black binding...

And then a friend of mine painted a custom pickguard for me....

And that's what it currently looks like. Well, now I wanna install a white pearloid guard as I think that would look really slick! I'll post picks if and when I do...
