Will the Fender String Retainer fit with the standard tuning machines on a Squier PJ (Affinity Precision Bass Mod. 2018)?

I don't quite get the question - the product page ( https://shop.fender.com/en-US/squier-el ... 00505.html ) shows there is a string guide/retainer on that model's headstock. Was it different in 2018..?

I want to add the Fender Stealth String Retainer for the A string on the bass. But I doesn't find any information if the Fender Stealth String Retainer will fit to the tuning machines on the Squier bass.

OK, now I understand the problem.

First things to check/do before installing anything:
Is the buzzing caused at the headstock, or could it be something else in the setup, like relief or string height?
Is the A string wound on the post all the way down, so you maximize the string's break angle over the nut?
Is the nut slot perfect?

If that doesn't help, it may be time to add a retainer.
Looking at pics of the bass, I don't think the stealth type ( Fender part 0078972049 ) fits those tuning machines, so you either need another like the one you have ( Fender part 0994913000 ), or you can use a bar type string guide of your choice.

Edit: You could confirm that with Fender Consumer Relations, via support pages (email or the wonderful chat service).
