I've played for many years now. I was trained in music theory and played professionally on and off for several years. Last spring a buddy told me about 60th Anniversary Aztec Gold Classic Vibe. I'm an all American guitar owner. I know much of our gear is being produced over seas now, speakers (wished they would reflect an over seas price hint, hint celestion....) amps, and guitars. My buddy is like me as well as buying American. He told me to check one of the "CV" Aztec Gold Anniversaries out.

I was about to buy a Les Paul when I was in a retail store we all know, when out of the corner of my eye was the Stratocaster 60th Ann. CV 50's model. I picked it up and it felt so much better than the Les Paul. Acoustically it sounded better. When I plugged it into a Fender Deluxe Reverb '65 reissue I was blown away. I know Seymour Duncan didn't build the pickups but would love to find out who did contract to build them. It is one of my favorite guitars I own now. I had to buy one of the Teles just to see if it was as anywhere near as good as the Strat Aztec Gold CV. It's okay but for the life of me that Strat Aztec is absolutely wonderful. The Tele feels good and I like it has the original pine body, just needs a little something different in the pickups. The wood figuring on both of the necks is absolutely beautiful. I had to reset it up on the Strat because the guys at the store had monkeyed with it. I set all my guitars close to Fender specs. It's like butter. I don't want to put it down. I enjoy playing it so much.

I've not popped the hood yet on the Strat to inspect the insides, it will be a matter of time. It would interesting to find out who contracted to build the pickups they sound fantastic. I've not found a single thing wrong with the guitar, and I don't like gold hardware!!! I owned a '54 Black Beauty Les Paul that the gold would just rub off. So far I've not had the problem with the Aztec Gold CV '50s 60th anniversary. Good Job Fender/Squier/China you guys knocked it out of the park with this guitar.

As far as the tremolo block goes I'm not sure what problems guys are having, but if it's a location of where the tremolo stops, just run and short allen head bolt (same thread size) down in the hole with some screw glue (lightly and clean up after with a pin and thin towel to clean threads) to act as a stop for where you want the tremolo bar to stop. Make sure it is a light glue, don't want to make it hard to get out. Again Thanks to my buddy and Fender/Squier I have another love now!!!!

I have a CV 50's but it's not the 60th anniv model. Amazing guitar!

It is my understanding the pups are made by Tone Rider. I think the CV 50's are Alnico III's and the CV 60's are Alnico V's.

I just found another Aztec Gold Anniversary 50's Classic Vibe and it is just as beautiful as the other I described earlier and maybe even prettier neck. Still has all the stickers including pickup stickers. It will need a small set up, but I've done set ups for about 20 years now. No problem.

Hamfisted I was told the same thing, about the pickups being built by tone rider. I was hoping there was more evidence of this. They sound so good. Amazing killer neck wood figuring and play-ability on top of killer sounding pickups. I don't understand why there are still more of these guitars new not sold. I appreciate the backup on the builder of pickups. So now I'll have two of these great sounding guys. Both 60th anniversaries. It was a deal of best offer... win, win.

I picked mine up from a pawn shop. It was a mess. All the metal was oxidized even the frets. But there was no fret wear and with a little elbow grease and a new set of strings, it plays and sounds like a dream!

I have several great Squiers, a MIK Squier II contemporary, a VM modified 70's and the CV 50's . Anyone who thinks they're junk because of the Squier name doesn't know what they are missing.

Totally agree. They have some diamonds in the rough. A few years ago I heard people bad mouthing the Highway One series. Yet I've picked up $4500 Les Pauls that the fret board is not even with the neck and the binding not even with the neck or body. I'm not paying that kind of money for poor workmanship.

I keep reading Tonerider made the pickups. If you've got a gold edition, 60th anniversary, I am curious to know about the pups. To me they sound far "chimey-er" than in the regular CV from 2014. I once read that one of the pups was ceramic (neck) and other two alnico III, but one reads a lot of of wrong info on the internet. Thank you.

I've been on hiatus due to health... oddly enough I keep grabbing my Squier 50's Classic Tele! Yes both Gold Anniversary Strats are bright. Yet my amps settings have a ton of bottom end and I roll off a little tone on the guitars, yet if I need to slice heads, I have it!

NO they are all Alnico III and are the same STA5 labled pickups that are in the regular CV50s. Yes the pickups are made in the same factory as Tonerider pickups, the part numbers even relate to the Tonerider part numbers

Sufaris are
TRS5
Classic blues are
TRS3
and the Tele set is:
TRT2

CV50s-STA5
CV60s-STA3
CV50s Tele-TCA2
