Here are three Squires:

(Heath Ledger's character is a squire merely pretending to be a knight for the money and to win the girl.)

Here are some Squiers:

(Bullet Strats, if I'm not mistaken.)

Perhaps surprisingly, the Forum search function has not been set up to treat the two words as the same, but there you go.

The misspelling is driving me nuts.

As do topic titles that give no hint as to what the topic might actually be about. LIke this very one!
(See what I did there?)

And yet another Squire:

No, not the Rickenbacker. He's Chris Squire, bass player for Yes.

While I generally try to strive for good spelling and proper grammar with my own posts (primarily because my father worked for a major newspaper for over 40 years and my mother often worked as a secretary) and while I will admit to some increasing degree of ignorance (in regards to the art of writing) in recent years thanks to the likes of Twitter and texting (people are getting dumber every day), honestly...I try not to get too wound up about it. Just as some people are poor at mathematics (such as myself), not everyone is proficient at spelling.

Squire...

Squier...

Skwire.....

A rose by any other name.

Good call!
Trust what it says on the headstock, not the browsers spell checker :)
