I have a problem wiring a Squier Vista series humbucker, and was wondering if someone could help... The thing is, I don't know how to do a coil-tap on it.
I tried wiring it according to the generic Fender/Jackson/Squier color chart:
BLACK - South finish; RED - South start; GREEN - North start; WHITE - North finish.

The humbucker mode works OK, but when I switch to tapped (RED and WHITE to ground), there is sound, but it doesn't resemble a guitar sound. It's more like a distorted sitar.

Any ideas would help.
Thanks!

Are you sure you can wire tap that pickup? It has to have a wire coming out of the middle of all the windings of each pickup.

I'm sure you can find out on google but if all else fails try Seymore Duncan. I think they have wiring diagrams.
