Nothing, but it looks nice. Probably some sort of quality wood when the paint is translucent and without a pickguard the wiring is routed through the back which makes it more difficult to build. You also have a painted headstock.

If it is not too much money I would go for it. It has some very distinctive features that separate it from the normal Squier.

From what I can find, it's a Deluxe series with a mahogany body and Duncan designed pickups. The guitar is not where I can play it and I was wondering if anyone on here has played one before. If so, how did it sound?

Well, the one thing you can be sure of is that with a maohgany body and 2 humbuckers, it won't sound at all like a singlecoil Strat. More like a Les Paul than Strat.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I've never understood why someone would buy a strat type guitar and want it to sound like a gibson

Well, Gibsons are natorious for their short and slanted necks which can take a lot of getting used to for us Strat people with big hands. The only Gibsons that would have a similar feel would probably be an SG or a Firebird.

Oh, then there are those extra hundreds of dollars you would pay for a Gibson. Although honestly I would be willing to fork out the $499.99 for the Black Sabbath Tony Iommi Epiphone G400 if I had it and the $699 for the EVH Peavey which also had a slanted neck . But I have never had that kind of flow. So I think I'll stick to my Strat.

I think Rockers usually go for the humbuckers. I'm quite happy with the mini humbuckers Seymour Duncan makes. But probably through a high powered amp things would change.

It's all a matter of what works best for the money I guess.

I think people want to play what's comfortable and have an unlimited number of sounds, something that new amps like the Line 6 can do.

I'd never trade my Strats but when I'm jamming along to some classic KISS or Sabbath I want that "Gibson" sound.
