good luck in finding the one you choose!

i just put in a request for a new 2-tone sunburst one at my local music store so they're gonna check their stock and then call their other locations if need be.

can't wait to hear back... i'm hoping they have one.

I own five Squier 51s. When I first saw them I thought "Ew." But I got one as kind of a joke via MF.

Once you play one, you realize what the hype is about. I was lucky to get two SB, one blonde and two Black before they're sold out as Fender says the 51 is discontinued.

I picked a Black one back in March from SamAsh. It's a great guitar for the price. :P

The one I got has great frets, a nice solid sound - just needed a tuning and after a bit of playing some new strings.

Great value for the buck.

Ok guys, just got my '51 and I'm really confused as to what the control knobs actually do and didn't come with any sort of manual.

If anyone could explain it to me that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Send me an email address and I'll send you 2 PDFs of the wiring diagram and the switching diagram indicating what does what.

Cool deal! Thanks again for sending those PDF's Gil, they really helped me out.

I totally forgot to check the Squier site first though, doh!

Quick FYI, the only place I can find a new Squire 51 is at the Sam Ash’s web site. So if you’re in the market for one as of 06/26/07 Sam Ash’s web site still has them and as Henry Ford once said, “you can have it in any color you like as long as it’s black”. I’m still thinking about purchasing one more and leaving it in the box. The guitar has knock out looks and is very playable as long as you lower the action a little. The pickups actually sound very good and for the price it was one of the best values out there…will we see a Fender version in the future? Only time will tell!

I reckon they discontinued it to make a Fender version, why else would they discontinue the Squier version in the height of it's supremacy?

That would be pretty wicked, I've had mine for less than a week as of right now but I would buy a Fender version for sure!
