Hey to all. I'm primarily a bassist but looking to just learn a little bit of guitar on the side to help with my bass playing and understanding of the instrument and stuff. Is the Squier '51 a good choice just as a guitar to mess around on a bit?

I've heard good things about the 51. And the price is right.

The '51 is a great guitar. I have a friend who has one. It plays great and the price is right too.

Any extra info is helpful anyway and will reinforce my decision. Thanks!

Absolutely most highly recommended. I'm lucky enough to own one of the final prototypes for the '51 and it is an absolute beast of a guitar. I've played many others as well and they were all consistently phenomenal axes.

Buy one immediately!!

I own one and use it live as a back-up to an American Tele (Humbucker bridge - single neck).

It truly rocks...[/quote]

Well, I'm pretty much sold on it now and it doesn't look like I'm going to get anything better for the price, guess I'd better go try one out then. :D

It's the vintage blonde one that really grabs my attention. Although the 2-tone sunburst is very tempting too.
