So, I have a type of Squier Pawn Shop apparently (just figure that's what it's called since it says Squier on it). Anyway, I recently changed the strings on it to a little thicker gauge (.11-.48) and then I noticed that I was getting a lot of fret buzz (but not on the first and second fret), especially the bass strings. Basically, from everything I've been able to read, I need to loosen my truss rod. The problem is that no matter how much I loosen it, the neck stays the same. I think this may have something to do with a lack of use for two years, but the problem remains: How do I get the neck to bend forward?
The easiest suggestion I've heard is to tune it really tightly and let it sit for a while. The question I have is how long, and is that really a good idea?

Also, I noticed a bit of what seems to be buzz coming from my bridge, but none of the screws are lose—those sound different. Not sure what to do about that. It's not always there, and I'm hoping it'll go away if I can get the neck fixed. I also noticed a horrible ringing sound with the D string on a down strum. It oddly doesn't seem to show up when I strum up, but I also played through the other strings and it seems to be there to a lesser extent, anyway. I'm mostly just worried about the neck problem, because the other things don't affect my playing nearly as badly.

The guitar is in dire need of a proper setup.
If I had it in my workdesk right now, I'd start by some measuring - to check how the setup is now. The nut height/string height/relief/pickup height, added with a little thought to how the neck is angled with the body...
Then I'd set it up to factory specs, and see if it plays nice that way.
Third stage: set it up to the player's personal preferences.

But here you don't give us much to start with...
Adding to that the "lack of use for two years" (loose screws anywhere?) , non-working truss rod (turning direction? threads? bolt?) and the more mysterious bridge buzz (not level? a piece of old string somewhere?) + D-string downstroke ring (hard playing style? unlevel frets? pickup pole?) etc.
I'd really suggest you take it to a good luthier.

Thanks for the input! I wasn't really wanting to take it in, but it really seems like it'd be a good idea just to make sure everything works well.
I left it in D tuning for the two years I didn't use it, but it appears maybe I should've left it in standard. I think the problem is in the wood, because the truss rod will pull it back, but as it's not likely a two-way truss rod, it won't push it forward. I don't really have the right stuff to check everything else, but I think the frets are even, although not in the best condition. The stuff with the bridge I have no idea. I used to get random buzzing and I had to just push the string around on the bridge until it stopped. Rather inconvenient, but it worked.
Other note: I haven't really changed the strings on it before, so the ones I had before were very old and not in very good condition.

When you are loosening the truss rod how does it feel? Really loose, hard to turn? It feels like the truss rod might be broken?

Longshot are you turning it the correct way (righty tighty, lefty loosey, sorry only way I remember this), and using a 4mm allen key and not an SAE key?

Would also agree with doing a full setup, Fender has a very easy to follow guide here.
