I bought a squire mini at a garage sale for $15.00 its in great shape, its missing the high E string but they all need replacing, I got it home and found the nut on the jack was loose I tighten it up pluged into my amp and I had sound in all positions so I think I did good, I was thinking of putting a set of strings and selling it but my wife loves it and wants to try to learn to play so I think I'll keep it for now.

Hi People,
I'm a newbie on the forum so if I do something wrong let me know.
I am thinking of a Fender Mini for my Grand daughter. She has just turned 6 and is small. I think the Mini would be a good choice to have laying around to see if she will have an interest in learning (and be like Grampie). I haven't gigged professionally in more than 35 years but still love playing for me ( family and friends).
Im looking for some input on my above mentioned ideas and would like some info on where to find set-up and intonation details for such a short scale, or would I just have to rely on prior experience with my own instruments. I have found little on set-ups for the Squire line, or is the Mini considered part of the Squire short scale set up?
Sorry for the long post.

Thanks in advance,
Shadowwalker

For $15 I would have grabbed it too! I really like these little guys, easy to work on. Btw if you tighten the output jack it's always safer to take out the plate then hold the back of the jack when you tighten it. Otherwise you could twist off the wiring...
