So I was thinking about modifying a Squier Strat.
I will be changing tuners, nut, pickups (of cause) and bridge. I know that an american Fender pickguard doesn't fit in a Squier because of the screwholes.
My question is; Will Amercan-made hardware like those who are on Fender American Standard Stratocasters and Fender American Deluxe Stratocasters, fit in a Squire Strat? I mean like tuners, nut, pickups and bridge.

Thanks

No, size of parts are not be same .

Why don't you buy a better guitar ? Sell this one original .

Putting so much money on a beginner guitar .... :( You loose your money .

Save your money and buy the Statocaster of your life , an American Standard :D

Have to agree with Stratele52 on this one. It sounds as if after you replace that list you gave, all that's left is the body and neck.

For all the hassle of retrofitting it may be in your interest to just upgrade the guitar. Keep this one if it has sentimental value but it may be the better way to go.

Just something to think about, totally your choice of course.

This....all of this. Even a higher-end Squier would be a better investment than sinking money into upgrades.

By better guitar I mean one you won't need to change next year , one it worth an upgrade or mod ...like an American Standard

It's been nearly 21 years (Oct. 10), but my '93 American Standard Strat is "Still the One". She's in need of a re-fret, but this guitar is a keeper.

IMO the American Standard is THE standard guitar for every guitar player . The last guitar if you want.

So to Lunde97...what we are trying to tell you in a no so subtle matter is to forget about that Squier and get an American Standard Strat. You wont regret it. Overall the entire line of America Standard guitars and basses is the best deal (IMO) that Fender has going. Sure, they do make some nicer Squiers and even MIM's (nothing at all wrong with a Mexican Fender), but I would really encourage you to invest in your music and get an American Standard Stratocaster. If you look around, you may even find yourself a killer deal. One of our fellow forum members recently scored an American Deluxe (those are SUPER nice) for a little more than the cost of a new MIM Standard.

I would have to ask why do all the changes? The only reason I ever changed my pick ups is because someone gave me two lace sensors, in ways i love them and in other ways i wish i hadnt changed them. Maybe I go a really good squire, but i love it, i only want a tele now and it will probably be a squire as well. i dont preform, merely jam with guys now and then. Unless your squire is a real dog, i wouldnt change anything...in fact they are rather cheap, so just buy another one...
