IMO any Fender Product have serial number .As I wrote march16 there is no money to do with a less tan $200 guitar , a Bullet . Why built a Bullet fake ?

That is exactly what I used to think, until some weeks ago there was a chain on a Fender acoustic guitar, priced ~125$ :!: in the Philippines - it turned out to be a fake. Made me realize that in some parts of the world every price difference counts.

So, remembering that the "real" Bullets have no such characteristics as the "real" MIA Strats, there's not much a buyer can rely on.
The area where you live, the reputation of the seller, the serial number - those help but in the end there may be no way to be absolutely sure...

Would the quality of a fake Bullet be about the same as a real one?

I don't think , Fender product are very high quality for the price ,Fender name is on the guitar .
Fake bullet with no name on , there is no reason for the builder to make as good as Fender , I might be wrong to , we have to test drive both.

By the same logic, why would anyone fake an Epiphone? But as it turns out ....

Hint: The serial numbers never had larger letters than numbers.

Some real Epiphone made at Gibson Quidao, China ( EE ) have 9 digits like your photo. Gibson don't talk about EE size .

stratele52, I spend a good amount of time over at the Epi forums. They never had large letters like that. If you see it, run.

I wouldn't say I was an 'Epiphone Expert' but there are quite a few of them over there on the Epi forums.

Here are some comments from a single thread on the subject:

AlanH: On yours, I'm not sure about the different font sizes with the serial number.....

Gary Moore Tribute: The EE is out of sinc and the wrong size

animalfarm: You'll note that on the EPIs I have the FACTORY LETTER CODE is the same size as the rest of the serial number, and spacing between letters and numbers is consistent.

On the EPI you posted pics of the Factory Letters are noticably LARGER than the rest of the serial number, and the spacing is a bit off/wider, EVEN THOUGH both our Gits came from the SAME factory, in the SAME Year, just a few months apart.
This is why we need to see more good pics of the front.

james_edward: One picture would have been good enough - there are no legit EE Epi's with two different font sizes in the serial number.
