Hello!

Back in 2010 I bought this squier strat , now I need to know the model, so I could find what is it made of.
I know this is a budget guitar, yet I just want to know what wood is it made of and what is its exact model ?
On the head it is written Squier Strat Affinity.
And this is the serial numbER:

IC081052256 / crafted in Indonesia?
It is HSS, yet back in 2008 there was no hss affinity? Is it FAT strat or Affinity Strat?

I feel sooo confused, please help me, this will eat me until I find the model!

Best regards
KAte

Check the 2008 Frontline catalogue here: http://www.fender.com/support/library/

Pages 74 and up, there is an Affinity Stratocaster HSS.

Reliability - well, judge for yourself. IMHO the body color etc. of course may vary, otherwise that sounds about right for Squiers.

Thank you once again! You are an angel!
BTW - they say body agatis, but also hardwood, which is not wood at all?

I am a beginner player, so the quality of the wood does not matter so much, it's just my curiosity.

Thank you again! :)

Nope, but glad if I could help.
The "hardwood" here is just a common term used when they didn't want to specify which tree the wood is from:
Merriam-Webster definition

In my experience, your kind of curiosity easily leads to where you'll soon be asking for instructions on how to mod the guitar...
Meanwhile, enjoy playing it.

Well..
You caught me. :D
I'd love to mod it. :)

~English is not my first tongue so please excuse me~

I read about screening a guitar (with some copper foil and soldering here and there)
i also read about changing adapters

I had the tremolo fixed still and setup made by a professional not long ago because it was constantly getting out of tune.

If I show you what I crafted with my hands in the passed years you will believe me that I actually Could mod a guitar if I had all the needed theoretical stuff in my brain. But I do not have it.

Alas, I will not mod that guitar.
I bought it, then the Wheel of Life postponed me playing. It just stayed in its case, patiently waiting to be used.

First I will take some guitar lessons. I will learn to play that beautiful instrument, using this Strat (which I like very much, despites it is just a cheap Strat!). I will invest my time in learning how to play, instead of modding.
One happy sunny day, when I decide I have advanced enough and so on I will purchase a better guitar .
Then I will bring that Strat to a lutier, to ask if it can be straightened up a bit, then I will gift it to someone that does not have the money to buy their own first instrument.
Yet I am reading lots of stuff, because I am curious to know if something could be made better.
