ok, 1 week to go and get my first electric!
I'd like to get the Standard Stratocaster by Squier, but I'm afraid I can't spend more than 200 Euros...

so, should I get a Bullet Strat or an Affinity Strat?? Does the Affinity worth the few extra bucks over the Bullet? Cos, I'm not replacing the pickups any time soon....

Go for the Affinity if you can. It has better wood (Alder). Also make sure you are comfortable with the neck of whatever guitar you get. Some are fat and require big hands but are probably are easier for chords than a skinny neck. Think it through before you put your money down.

with the shipping costs it will reach the 135 Euros that I've already found at my local music store, but thanks anyway!

I think if the Affinity costs 180Euros max I will get it, if it's more I'll get the BUllet.

3 days till my purchase!! can't wait!!!

hey man congrats on your future purchase jejeje, hope you can get the affinity strat, if not the Bullet is still a nice guitar, actually I own one :D and love it, specially for the color since i'm a blues guitarrist jeje, anyway the Bullet is a good purchase. I got mine for $180 (127 EUR aprox), i know it's a good guitar cause even i've played on the affinity strat, I can play better with my bullet, so basicly the difference is more up to the player than the guitar if you compare the aff. strat with the bullet, still the only complaint i have about it is that changing the strings is very very tricky but fun to play. Rember it's a Fender guitar you're getting so whatever you buy, you're getting a fine instrument. If by chance you get the bullet and want a tip on changing the strings jejeje leave a message or something, i'll be glad to help

Cheers, Vic

WELL, I got the Bullet! Didn't want to spend more money because I have a lot of expenses this month, and since it's my first electric, it can't be that bad! plus the price was reduced and I got it for 110 Euros! :D

I also got a Fender cable, a Fender gig bag and a Fender black strap  all in all for 150 Euros. (about $211)

now I have to figure out the amp! (I already had one, a Spider III 30 byLine 6)

thank you so much everyone for your suggestions! :D

Oh yeah, I totally forgot to mention the lack of sleep you'll have to endure because you want to play that new guitar way too much. My son & I went to a jam session for 1.5 hrs last night. Came home and stayed up til 1 am just trying to work out a new song and playing my new squier.

Nothing like a new guitar to make you want to practice and play all night long.

not happening any time soon, I find it a bit hard to adjust to the body of the electric, I'm used to the acoustic! so I haven't found the right position yet and my hand aches if I play for more than 30 minutes!

These guitars are from around 2002 - 2004. For some reason, not everyone identifies them correctly because I've seen a few of them listed in eBay as a Squier Standard Strat for about $150, and that's a great deal on a great starter guitar.
