i was wondering which guitar is best to buy. I have been playing for a year on a acoustic stagg, but i now want to buy a electric guitar.
I normally play songs from avril lavigne, of monsters and men, taylor swift, tegan and sara, maroon 5 and the pretty reckless. ( very versatile i guess)
With most of the songs i play strum other than pluck.
Which one do you think suits me the best?

Either one. Try them and see which is most appealing to you. I have an Affinity Tele which is very nice. Teles are easy to work with and are hard to hurt. Have fun. :D

PS - Welcome to the Forum! :D

If you strum, you might want to go for something that has a humbucking pickup in the neck position. You can find both Strats and Teles that fit this. The main difference, apart from the shape, is that Teles tend to have higher sustain (tones ring for longer without dropping down), but seldom have a whammy bar.
My recommendation would be a Tele.
As you come from acoustic guitars, and don't do seem to do heavy string bending, I would also recommend avoiding "Jumbo" frets, which are fatter. They play differently. "Medium Jumbo" is going to be more like what you're used to. ("Vintage" frets would be even closer, but I don't think those are an option on Squiers.)

My recommendation: A "Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Custom", or a "Squier Vintage Modified Cabronita Telecaster". Both are affordable.

You'll also need a practice amp. One with good "clean" tones that doesn't blow your budget.

I would go with the Tele, but then again I'm kind of partial to them. They are an excellent work horse guitar, especially good for your playing style. The Strat is a cool guitar too, but the tremolo bar might become a nuisance with tuning stability. You can always remove it, though. Like GTG said, you should try them both out first, and see which one you are most happy playing.
