Here are a few pictures of my latest Squier 'partscaster'..

Body is a 2011 CV50's that was white.. 3 pounds 14 ounces.
Neck is a 2008 CV50's.. early run, nicely flamed. Stock tuners.
PUP's are emg Gilmour copies (DFDG loaded guard from Dragonfire).
Bridge / saddles are from a MIM standard Strat and I added a GFS brass block.

It is set up with EB slinky 10's, floating trem and medium action..
It's a great player~

The man that painted the body for me was just great.. Very reasonable
pricing (he actually did this as a trade for a loaded pickguard I had).

It is based on Eric Claptons "Crash 1" Strat that he used on sdtage in the 2001 / 2002 time frame..

That is marvelous I must say. Love that color scheme. Out of all the crash themes that were painted that is the coolest. Great!

My son was a senior in high school and into airbrushing when I asked him to paint my Musicmaster in a "similar but different" style and this was the result. Just sharing.

Fantastic!

I think he did a great job~ Captures the 'vibe' of the Crash Strat for sure!

Thanx, yours is cool too, now if we jammed together that would be a lot of colors in one place. :D

Have a good one.

Both of those are great looking. I'd like to start dabbling in a little painting myself. I'm getting the itch for it.

Any idea what kind of paints were used to paint these?

I can't speak for turbokev, but my son painted mine with pretty common paints. First we sanded the body down all the way to the wood (it was stained before), multiple coats of white primer/Rustoleum, and sanded with 800 grit wet/dry between each coat. Once the primer was done he used acrylic airbrush paints, just common airbrush paint I guess, nothing special. If you don't have an airbrush that probably won't help you though. My son told me that he always uses the fabric version of this airbrush paint too, it's thicker and heavier than normal so the colors really "pop" on a white background. Stuff like this.....

The clear was done by a local body shop owner for $30. We didn't do that ourselves.
