Hi folks, I am looking to buy a squier classic vibe 50's strat from a local store,
two guitars both labelled as classic vibe 50's; both have the same spec on paper but the white one has squier stratocaster on the headstock and the candy red one simply has squier ! Are these both actually the same classic vibe 50's guitar or is there another difference somewhere.

specs are all here.http://www.expressmusicstore.co.uk/products.asp?code=177504&name=fender-squier-classic-vibe-strat-50s-maple-fingerboard-candy-red
and http://www.expressmusicstore.co.uk/products.asp?code=125550&name=squier-classic-vibe-50s-stratocaster-olympic-white-maple

would appreciate any insight on this asap as hoping to go buy in next couple of days.
Thanks, Stickmaster.

I believe the CAR does have "STRATOCASTER" written on the headstock - it's in small black letters and that photo resolution doesn't reproduce it.

IMHO, the guitars are the same model.

Just came back from the shop; the red painted headstock does indeed have stratocaster in small black letters on it. fender site and shop description says maple fingerboard only on sunburst and white models, that's why I questioned the painted headstock model.
Guy in shop said candy red was newer so more finishes added to range and all other specs the same; but I like the look of the white and gold plus it was cheaper (money saved can buy a gig bag) so I came home with the white one. :D
