was going to take the locking tuners off my 2005 fat strat usa and replace the cr*p tuners my indonesian strat (after first plugging the guide holes and redrilling them). then get new locking schallers for the fat strat. question: do I need to get the tuners that are graduated height ? there isn't a string tree on either guitar. I guess it makes better sense to put the new tuners on the better guitar. after that will have to look into replacement pickups/electronics on the squier - tends to hum a bit. any suggestions on that ? thanks

8) If it were ME, I'd go for the graduated tuners, if they aren't too much more than the regular set. You can get string trees, and ANYTHING else at stewmac.com. I just installed Roller string trees on my Natural wood Fat Strat [Indonesian], and my Jagmaster. The tapered set o' tuning machines will insure tension on the nut, I have seen strings Jump th' Nut, soo--either carefully Drill pilot holes in the exact place the string trees are on other Strats [Yes, I know that is a Traumatic EXPERIENCE, th' first time!! :? ] ,or save yer sanity, and use the Tapered set. Use a drill press, [$49 at Harbor Freight] any time you DRILL on somethin' Valuable, Trust me in this, I used to own a Guitar/keyboards 'n M. I. shop. I just bought an Affinity Strat, an' it's Cool. I have a Vintage Guitar collection, but th' Squires are so much Fun! :D Oh, BTW, you can get Shielding kits from Stewart MacDonald too. that will Cure the Hum, providin' you don't have a loose jack, or Ground wire, or bad pots.
