As the title says I am having problems with my strings on a squire affinity strat.
I have always used ernie ball super slinky strings ever since I bought the guitar, but for a while I have noticed that the high e b and g strings sound dead, even when they have been replaced with fresh strings. it's not like they sound worse the older they are, they sound bad when new and they sound the same just before I replace them.
they are correctly tuned to pitch and yet they still sound dead, and sometimes a little out of tune. the d a and e strings sound fine, but the high strings always sound bad.

can someone please help me to identify the problem and give me some possible solutions.
thanks in advance.

Wrong intonation because wrong neck bow ? Check neck bow and adjust truss rod if need.

Pickups too close to the strings ? If you never adjust pickups , these must be right if guitar play good before.

Intonation , intonation .It is a basic tune up .

The intonation is as perfect as it can be on each string, so is the neck bow. the guitar was brand new and the pickups have never been touched. if the problem was with the intonation, the neck or the pickups, wouldn't that make all the strings sound dead?
when I said the strings sound dead, I mean when the guitar isn't plugged in.

I have also noticed that when using the bridge pickup and playing either the high e b or g string, it sounds very whiny. I have tried raising and lowering the pickup and it makes no difference. the bridge pickup however sounds much better, as does the neck. what could be causing this?
