I've got a fender 15G amp that i got with my fender Squier guitar and its been working really well for a number of years until the other day i plugged in my new acoustic guitar into it and I'm getting no sound iv changed my leads and still not getting any sound out of it where as if i plug my Ipod in the aux in place im getting sound, any ideas of how i could fix this myself or if my amp is a total write off! (lets hope not!), hoping anyone on here could guide me without just saying take to a professional to get it fixed!

Here's the schematic for the previous version. Frankly, I wouldn't waste any time or money on it. If it were still under warranty, Fender wouldn't even bother to fix it. They would just trash it and give you a new one.

He's right. Fender usually junks them. But, I purchased a number of them a few years ago. Here is what I generally found the trouble to be... On the printed circuit board where the cord plugs into the amp. there may be a break. Remove the chassis and have a look on the underside of the board where all the "run" are. Runs being the metalic tape that is impregnated onto the board. The prongs that protrude through the board from the plug will break away from the run. If you see a crack all you need to do is place a paper clip piece over the area and solder it into place. This will replace the broken run.

Not that this is your problem, it is what I found on most of the warranty return amps that I have repaired.

Go and buy a new amp . Those 15G's aren't worth worrying about IMO. For 99 bucks you can get yourself a Fender Frontman 25R which is a huge improvement over the 15G . It's 25 watts of power and has much better tone to it. I own one and it's a good practice / small gig amp.

I have to agree with the statement on the 25R having it all over the 15G,R or DSP models. I have all of these and the 25R is so much better than the 15 models. But if money is an issue, purchasing a 25R may be out of the question. Try looking at the PC board and fix what you have. But if you can swing the money, get a 25R. I have seen real nice ones for about $30 in Craig's List. By the way, I have seen 15G and 15R's on C/L for as low as $10 or $15.
