Hi,
From the pics... to me it looks to be a relatively old squire tele....
I wouldn't think that someone would go to the trouble of changing the decal.....and putting Squire on it...and, it looks like someone hand-rubbed the back of the headstock...probably because it read 'Made in Japan'.... China, Indonesia or somewhere, and also the Serial No.
Actually the Japanese Fender Squires are surprisingly good guitars....but not (yet) worth a great deal...
TBH... the tele is a very simple design.... Ive owned some great playing Squire tele's...
you cant really go to far wrong....
But if your looking for a bargain tele, there's a few about at the mo...

Some MIM's would be in the same price range....(just a thought!!!)....

....But if you like it (and it dont cost much!)....It has been shown scientifically/medically/mathematically. You absolutely in no way can ever.....
... own too many Telecasters.. :D

Thanks for the reply. Owner says it's a 2003 model from Indonesia. just messaged him. He wants 150 uk pound for it. Is this about right?

MIM is that made in Malaysia, and where should i be looking for a Tele bargain??

Many thanks.

Hiya,

...and yes.... MIM = Made in Mexico.

and yup the Indonesia thing looks and sounds right....
I have a feeling the £150 would be around what he paid for it new (you havnt mentioned any upgrades he may have made so I guess we'll assume it's all stock).
So really its just about whether you like it enough to part with the cash?...
If its near to you, I would suggest playing it first to make sure everything works!!! if not, that would give you extra bargaining power to drop the £ further ...but I know thats not always possible.

With regards to Telecaster deals....
I would just keep checking ebay, and even local stores. I have had many a bargain in stores that are trying to clear stock to make way for the latest models...(it is always funny to me that the latest stock is usually copies of older and older guitars)
Weirdorama...

anyway...be careful and like I said before......
He who dies with the most telecasters........WINS!..... :D
