Has anyone here had any experience with replacing or fixing the potentiometers on the volume knob with these guitars?
I've got a 2nd hand Squier Strat built in Korea 93/94 and while playing the signal would just cut off randomly, it would take alot of messing with the volume knob to get it going again, which led me to believe that the wiring is bad.

After opening the guitar up it seems like the wiring attached to the pot needs re-soldering or replacing but I have no experience in doing this sort of stuff. I could bring it in for repair at a local shop but has anyone here got any idea how much this would cost?

Replacing the pots myself is ofc an option but after doing some googling I can't seem to find the exact same ones.
Would anyone be kind enough as to help me out here?

Also, how would I go about finding a tremolo arm for this guitar and installing that on?
My first guitar was an Ibanez with a fixed bridge so I'm not too familiar with these things.

As far as a Tremelo Arm, I bought mine here (link below), as mine was missing when I bought my guitar over the internet.
I emailed the guy at this place, so as to order the right one for my Squier, and he gave me the right part number.

Pics might help recognizing the pots - do you see any markings on them?
Just guessing they are 500K mini pots with .022uf caps. You could take the guitar (or at least the loaded pickguard) with you to the guitar/electronics shop, they should be glad to help. (And, it's not a big deal to change to regular sized pots, as you're already rewiring...)

Getting the job done by a pro would cost around 50-100€ (including tax but not parts, and in my 'hood)

Another way to go would be to get a fully loaded pickguard with all the electronics - there is a price range for everybody.

And the compulsory BTW: check the wiring on the output jack first. It's common for the wires to have a bad connection and cause signal cuts...
