Quick question, should the pickup screws on my Squier Surf Stratocaster be wobbly in their holes?

Not spring , kind of rubber /neoprene . Or Fender use springs on this low budget guitar ? Not in American made. Springs are use in Gibson guitar. But if rubber is defective all the pickup will move too.

Thanks, is there anyway I can fix it? These are the screws used to adjust the pickup height by the way. Where are the springs?

Yes thats the screws i was thinking of, unscrew the pickguard and take a look underneath there should be springs between the pickguard and the pickups that go over the screws. If there arent any springs then they should be available at your local guitar shop, you don't have to disconnect any wires for this so don't be alarmed or daunted by that.

If you have a fairly old guitar it could be that the springs have simply reached thier time.

Probably springs are weak . If no spring you can easily pulll up the pickup

You can find the rubber tubing type used on Fenders on ebay all the time. You can even buy some neoprene surgical tubing and cut your own.

I unscrewed the pickup cover and yes there are 6 springs underneath. They looked ok to me. The pickups aren't wobbly, just some of the screws where you adjust the height. I wonder if the springs need adjusting?

If pickups are not wobbly , springs do their job . That is what I write feb 12

Screw move move in their hole ; it is a problem with the hole / pickup bracket . Files damaged ?

if you are not sure , remove pickup from pick gard , you'll easely see what 's hapenning with screw and their hole.
