Hi folks! I have a CV Stratocaster 60's in sunburst and i would like to know which is the finish (nitrocellulose, polyurethane...) of my guitar since this information is not available in the product specifications. I have the guitar for some months now, and i am wondering about some polishes for cleaning, but i know that there are some less or more recommended according to the finish of your guitar.

So, the ones i am considering are D'Andrea Guitar Polish and Planet Waves Shine (i know the PWs is a 3 part/bottle system but i just want one since i don't need more than one solution, nothing hard). I already excluded other polishes like Fender, Dunlop etc.. Some because they're not available where i live (like Fender), others because i read that they have chemicals that wear out the finish on some guitars, and i don't want that. Both D'Andrea and PW claim to be fine with most finishes (D'Andrea for instance states "Natural ingredients. For all surfaces"). So, anybody has any experience with this two? Which do you think is better and WHY? I don't want explanations based on the prestige of brands people, real testimonials please ;)

In the case of none of these is recommended for my guitar, suggestions?

Cheers!

All lesser expensive guitars have a poly finish. Nitro is usually only found on the higher end guitars. All CV Squiers are poly.

Don't overthink what to use to to clean the guitar. Any non-abrasive guitar polish will do, simpe as that.

Lemon Plege on a soft cloth works just as well as that other stuff and smells better too!

Non-abrasive guitar polishes. Ok, thank you, and those are...? Because they don't say "non abrasive" in the bottle :-/ And remember you that the problem is that there aren't the most of the polishes in my local store.
