Hello The Squire,

First off did you use a tuner?
Calibrated to A440?

If you answered yes to the above,
keep in mind different manufacturers
and models of strings have different
properties that all equals up to a
different tone.

No need to shout at the Fender forum.

Cheers.

Yup.

Also....You know....I usually don't like to endorse certain types of strings, but Fender strings are actually pretty good for their strats. (I particularly like the .010 to .046 gauge)

I do know that having ultra light strings sometimes results in a serious loss of tone...

Mine high E-string makes a weird noise also.
When I play on the 13+ fret it seems that the string make a high pitch VIBRATING sound instead of a solid sound. I don't know if it is the way the strings are or the tuning. Is that similar to your problem?

Sounds to me like a minor truss rod and/or action adjustment may need to be made....
