Just got this Squier Vintage Modified Mustang (Sonic Blue).

Love it so far except the bridge which seems to use the Grub screws to raise and lower it... They back out pretty quickly... and the High E falls out of the pocket and bumps against the grub screw when you have a bend on that string.

Also, The bridge seems to be lower on the high side. How do I adjust this? I am used to Ashtrays on a Telecaster. This one is new to me. Here is where the Bridge is lower:

Hiya.
This is a "Vintage Modified" Mustang?
That looks like the Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridge. No one in their right mind would swap the Mustang bridge for that one - it's a common mod to swap the Jazz/Jag bridge TO the Mustang bridge.
Anyhoo, the problem with this brdige is that it needs plenty of string tension on it to stop everything vibrating loose. I've recently sorted a Jazzmaster with that bridge. The standard 9s that are fitted to the guitar are too light, so I would fit 11s. It's also worth shimming the neck back slightly to get a better break angle over the bridge. Getting the saddle and bridge height correct is a bit of a balancing act with these, if the bridge is high and saddles low, the strings can rattle against the side of the bridge unit. If the bridge is too low and the saddles high, the intonation screws will rattle against the underside of the string, in severe cases, you won't be able to get correct intonation. To raise the whole unit, use the allen key that adjusts the saddles - there's a small screw in thebottom of both bridge posts. The bridge unit rocks front to back within the cups in the body, so you also need to make sure that it is centred when setting the intonation.
Long term, I would recommend swapping the bridge for the proper Mustang bridge, which is not expensive and will solve most of the grief.
Cheers.

This is a huge help... It is a Squier Vintage Mod Mustang. Which all in all is a great guitar... I ordered a Real Mustang Bridge from All-Parts. Thanks for your help. I used an Allen Wrench to adjust the height till I get the new bridge in.

You're welcome. Glad I could help.
The Jazzmaster bridge can be made to work, but the Mustang one will be a lot easier to set up and will be more 'tolerant' to lighter gauge strings, though I would still go with 10s or 11s - if you're used to playing Strats/Teles with 9s or 10s then going a gauge or two heavier on the shorter scale Mustang won't be a problem, as you'd end up with a similar string tension/feel.
