Nice guitar.
I bought myself a Squire a few weeks ago.
My first one. Cheaper model, as I am a new
beginner...

thx,

I have ordered some new strings for it.
I bought it used and already broke a string, so i figured better to replace all of them.
I had a Slingerland drum set when i was late grammer school.
Took piano lessons then, and strum on an acoustic guitar for awhile.
I am also partially disabled from a motorcycle accident, and with few things that i can do, I took up guitar again for self-therapy.
Cures the winter cabin fever.

I receive my new strings yesterday, as i wanted to replace all of them after I just broke a thin one.
Also received a Tremalo Arm which I bought.
heck, I tried for an hour to put my first string on it.
Finally did a search on the internet, and then it was a piece of cake.
I really didnt have to adjust the string lenth on the bridge.
it sounds ok to me for now. i cut the lenths with my heavy duty scissors.
I did have to adjust the strings tighter after about 4 plays with it.
I read somewheres I wa suppose to stretch the strings first..?
Boy, Im glad I had the strings off. I cleaned the fretboard and it was filthy dirty. I cleaned the string guides also.
I also bought that Fender string cleaner which seems to work good, and I clean the strings with it after every practice.
I was hesitant to wipe the wood down with furniture cleaner and polish as I read the label, and it said not for laquer finishes.

I am playing thru my imput on the computer. I did have stereo thru my Bluetooth headphones, but now only had a left sound in my headphones.
I would like an amp- but I live in an apt complex.
Listening thru one ear is OK for now.
Still practiceing with nimble fingers.
So it goes...
How are you makin out playing?

Good to see all the new players on here. I am new to it myself. I had a guitar when I was very young (9 or 10) and no one to show me anything about playing so I didn't last very long with it. For Christmas my wife surprised me with a Squire!! I had no idea it was coming because we have never looked at them nor ever talked about them. Anyway, suffice it to say I am very happy that she surprised me. I don't want to put it down.

My 5 way switch seems to be working ok.
Its hard for me to tell if my knobs are adjusting the tone, as I am using headphones off the computer, and somehow lost stereo with it recently, and I only have sound now on my left ear only.

My closest guitar shop is an hour away.
I bought mine over the internet at Guitar Center.
I wonder if they go through the guitars that are traded in, as I bought mine used..? I am thinking they would before they sell them.

I can plug my guitar into the mic port, but I have cheap $19- speakers and doesnt sound well.
I did look up the Fender Frontman 25, and seems to have good reviews.
I am in an apartment complex. One resident on the side of me is deaf, and the other apartment on my other side, has a lady who is gone most the time.
It would be nice to hear music coming thru an amp. I would keep it reasonably low.
QUESTION: Can I plug headphones into the Fender Frontman 25, w/o sound goin thru the amps speaker? I am thinking this would sound better than going thru my computer while playing.

Thanks.

D.

I don't have the same amp as you but mine (Frontman 15) has an output jack and you can plug headphones into it with an adapter which I do on occasion. Hope this helps.

So there is no sound coming from the amp speaker when you plug in headphones? Or is there a switch to do so?
thx

I wonder if you could blow the speakers in the headphone connected to the amp if you cranked it up too loud?
I am considering on buying that amp. {Fender Frontman 25} Saw it at Amazon for $100- which is in my budget price range.

thx agn for the replies.

Bought a loaded pickguard and swapped out the old electronics with the good stuff as well as an aged white 3 ply plastics. Also replaced the output jack with a Switchcraft unit, works like butter!
