That's very nice...
...don't get carried away about 74 & 79 Strats, though. My first Strat is a 79 and they aren't that good - not a good yardstick.

That's a CV50? They are very good straight out of the shop.

The classic vibe series is awesome i wish i had the alder body but the neck is like a dream and yeah the cbs era was a rough one id love to have the money for a 60s strat but thats a lot lol so the most vintage i can go is 70s

I was under the impression the CV ones do have alder bodies?
To be honest, manufacturing has come a long way since the 50s and 60s. Not all pre-CBS Fenders are as deserving of classic status either.
It'd be nice to have the money for one, but you could spend ridiculous amounts and still end up with a lemon, whereas you buy a US Vintage Reissue or one of the Custom Shop models (well, any new Fender) and you are guaranteed a good instrument.
Ironically, when I bought my first Strat in the early 80s, I could have bought a 62 for not very much more... and sold it now for the price of a very good brand new car! As it happens, my 79 is in a rare colour and you see them going for 10x what I paid for it, now.
Back then, old instruments were judged on their quality. Nowadays, people are prepared to pay stupid amounts of money for crap, just because it's old.
Tip for the day is don't buy an immaculate old instrument - it is probably immaculate because it isn't very good and never got played.
