Have you played the guitar? How does it feel? How does it sound?

Does the quality match up to the price the seller is asking?

If you're buying it just to re-sell it, then you'll probably be able to find somebody to pay for it since it has the magic word "Japan" printed on it.

I don't like it as being really MIJ. The Squier decal is silver which I believe was associated with MIK Squier (like my MIK). My MIJ has a gold decal as it should. Also, do the tuners say made in Japan on them? If not, probably isn't real or isn't the high quality MIJ Squier guitars from the 80's. Also, I don't like the serial number. It's faded when nothing else is, plus it doesn't seem to be any of the better E series, etc. guitars.

It looks like a geniune neck on non-genuine everything else.
The neck is off an E series Strat from around 86/7ish. I had one and still have an E series MIJ Tele from the same period from new and can confirm the logo is and should be silver. The earlier JV Squiers have a gold logo.
The body on that guitar has the wrong edge radiusing, too tight, like an aftermarket body such as the ones WD products sell. Also there wasn't a humbucker model at that time.
If it was my money, I wouldn't pay more than £100 for it and only then if it sounded outstanding and played excellently.

My advice. Leave it alone.

PS. Having had another look, it shouldn't have a trussrod plug at the head on a rosewood board from that era, so I'm inclined to say it's a fake, though why anyone would bother is beyond me - it would cost more to fake than it would actually be worth.
